Know your CBD dosage to take for a healthy and happy life!

CBD, or cannabidiol, is the all new legal and natural way to deal with a number of ailments. These may include epilepsy, mood swings, nausea, anxiety, drug withdrawal or even chronic pain. But with the law, and multiple medical practitioners, backing this all natural extract, many people have started to use CBD. For beginners, there’s a few things that one should understand. CBD comes from the same source as THC that gives you the “high” that cannabis is usually known for, but CBD is safe and does not involve any psychoactive stimulation.

But this is not all, there are more questions that need to be answered when starting off with CBD! Questions like “how much CBD should I take?”, “What is the best CBD oil?”, “what is the best amount of CBD to take?” and “what are the ways of taking CBD?” Now, we did answer a lot of these basic questions to give you a better understanding of what CBD is in our blog “5 THINGS YOU MUST KNOW ABOUT CBD”.

The previous blog mentioned this as well, but there are a few common ways of taking CBD, including CBD Oils and CBD Vapes. And the oils takes multiple forms too:

  • Full Spectrum CBD,
  • Broad Spectrum CBD, and
  • CBD Isolates

So carefully discuss and debate with a medical professional to understand what form of CBD suits you since every individual’s requirement is different and there is no “one size fits all” solution when it comes to CBD form and dosage. Thus, here’s what we can possibly suggest as you join us on this journey of natural remedies with CBD!

So what IS the magic number for dosage?

Well, as we mentioned, every individual is different and the suggested dosage will change as per individual requirement. CBD works in tandem with the systems inside your body, and like any other naturally occurring supplement or extract, the way your body reacts to one type of CBD may differ to another. CBD works with the endocannabinoid system, thus, if this system is drastically in need of balancing, the effects would be much more enhanced than for someone who has a relatively balanced system.

The Dosage:

The amount of CBD you take depends largely on the weight of the user, the concentration of CBD being used and the desired effect that the user wishes to attain. But medical practitioners and users around the globe suggest that one can take 1-6 mg of CBD for every 10 pounds of weight. Thus, for example, if you weigh 200 pounds, and you want to just get a calming effect to begin with, about 10-20 mg of CBD should be adequate per day.

But if you wish to treat something that is more serious, say, chronic pain, the dosage would have to be increased. This is to be done incrementally and not all at once. The suggestion being, you begin with a low dosage of 10-15 mg, and gradually increase the dosage as you move along, some people may require up to a 300 mg dose. Thus, depending on the individual, doses can range from a mild 10-15 mg per day, to 10-15 mg three times a day, to the highs of 50-100 mg three times a day to even higher.

Aren’t these doses very high?

Now, don’t worry about these high doses either. Higher doses of CBD will not negatively affect your body, it does not make you high, and neither does it have properties that will get you addicted to the substance. Remember, you cannot overdose on CBD.

When do I take CBD through the day?

Now that you know how much CBD you can take in a dose, here’s some variations in the number of times you can take these doses through the day. You can take a dose once or twice a day, for example, when you wake up or before you go to sleep. You may take a dose every 2-3 hours, this will help you feel the effects of CBD throughout the day. Or you may even take hourly micro doses.

Always look at the bottle!

The suggestions here are based on the actual weighted concentration of CBD. Depending on the product you use, the concentration of CBD may vary. Remember to always look at the packaging to understand how concentrated the CBD really is. One drop of CBD Oil from a company may not have the same concentration of CBD as another company.

Thus, whenever talking about dosage, it is the actual weight of the CBD in milligrams and NOT the amount that is in the dropper.

So... Do I blindly follow what’s given?

No! The dosage that fits you is unique to you. Think of it as your custom made diet plan that fits the problems that are unique to your body. Discuss everything with your doctor and you may take multiple attempts to find the amount of CBD that suits you. It’s all based on how your body will react to the different amounts of dosage.

You may wish to try different types of CBDs too before settling on one. Go ahead and find what fits you from all these options!
